We’re back together as a family and we couldn’t be happier! We’re glad to be meeting in person again, but we do strongly recommend everyone follow guidelines put out by the CDC and our Governor for minimizing possible transmission of “germs,” including coronavirus. We assume you know the risks and regulations, since they have been broadcast EVERYWHERE, and by joining us at our facility you accept that risk as a personal responsibility. RVCC and it’s staff, management, and attendees are not responsible if you end up sick.*
*[Legal stuff…you know how it is. Lawyers gotta make a living, too. We have official disclaimers posted everywhere…]

If you are at-risk, not feeling well, or not comfortable joining us in person that’s okay! If you’re sick let us know, we will pray for you! You can always keep watching our services live-streamed on our YouTube channel at: www.youtube.com/user/RiverValleyLakeElmo if you feel you are “at risk.”

No one is forcing anyone to do anything, and there is no condemnation! We love you and want to accommodate everyone we can at whatever level you feel necessary.

As usual, our sermon audio and video will be posted and available here on the website as soon as we get it edited and processed following the services, so you can continue to access that like always.

Following service October 4 we’re having, “The First Thing!” It’s our first, easy step in getting to know more of, and more about, us here at River Valley. Meet the RVCC Elders and staff (as available). Chat, ask questions, and start to build a relationship in an easygoing, non-threatening environment with light snacks available! It’s designed particularly for those new(er) to the River Valley family.

“The Next Thing” will be held Sundays at noon October 18, 25, and November 1. This is also designed for new attendees, and taught by Pastor Jon. It covers the history, beliefs, foundation, organization, and future of River Valley Christian Church. It is a relaxed atmosphere. You’re encouraged to bring lunch and ask questions. Contact the church office if you have questions about the class where you can ask questions…

Keep up on (or get into) a daily Bible reading habit. Our 2-year program recently restarted, so now is as good a time as any to dive in with us! Each day’s reading is linked on our Facebook and Twitter pages every morning at 6am weekdays, and 6:30am on weekends. There are also printed copies of the whole program available in the foyer on the Info Table by the restrooms.
“For this reason I remind you to fan into flame the gift of God, which is in you through the laying on of my hands, 7 for God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control.” —2 Timothy 1:6-7

Cathy D is hosting the Healing Hearts on first and third Tuesdays starting at 6pm at her home. Contact her or the church office for details.

We’ve had a tremendous response to the new series of Wednesday evening classes we are offering this fall! Adult classes, youth group, and an elementary children’s class all start at 6:30pm.

Pastor Karen’s children’s’ class meets in Room 110 (“the old youth room”) so they’ll have plenty of space for the kids to separate as needed.

Youth Group with Pastor Peter will meet in the sanctuary, as usual. There is plenty of room for them there to spread out as much as necessary.

Adult classes meet in the new classrooms and other rooms as available, depending on the size of the group/class. If you couldn’t come last week, come this Wednesday and see why we’re excited about this “new fall season!”

“End Times Events” will be taught by Lorna H. More details on what that will be about can be found by clicking here.

Another class we’re offering is, “The Bait of Satan” led by Dennis & Cathy D. You can see more details about that on here.

Also John & Nancy V will facilitate “Biblical Worldview: Foundational Truths” by Andrew Wommack. It is video-based, with plenty of discussion. Click here for more information.
